![]() What is soap? Hard & Liquid Fats + Salt + Water = SOAP Is Real Soap dangerous? No! Think of it like Jell-O. You take Jell-O crystals, add water and it creates Jell-O, a completely different substance. Real Soap is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. Soap making is chemistry in action! With the increased use of growth hormones, anti-biotics',
preservatives, GMO food, and GMO feed, many people are looking for an alternative for their food supply. Many are looking for a healthier lifestyle after suffering from one condition or another. We, ourselves, looked for a means to grow and raise all of our own food. It has been a long journey to the place we are now, learning as we went. The typical 'learning the hard way' motto often comes to our minds, as we smile contently and 'remember when....' What do you think of when you're hungry? Do you think of the cookies your grandma made when you were little? Do you think of eating out or that you just don't want to cook tonight? Do thoughts of a favorite recipe come to mind? How about the ice cream you bought last week? Or are you drooling now that you are thinking about the meal you have waiting at home?
Often times, when we think of food, we think about what we like, what is convenient, or what we need to pick up at the store. We think of food in terms of cost, or preparation, and taste. Have you ever thought of where the lettuce came from? What process did they use to preserve the meat, or make the milk last so long? No? Don't be surprised if you haven't. With the hectic lives we live, many think in terms of "can we afford it?" and "will it save me time?". What many don't think of is.......... .................it really does matter what you eat. Kinder goat milk is approximately 9% butterfat and perfect for
making butter! Goat milk is naturally homogenized. That means the fat globules stick together. You do not need a cream separator to make butter! So, now you have decided rabbits are a go. You've spent time deciding which breed of rabbit you want, you spent time building their cages (or purchasing them). Now it's time to breed them.......so what do you need to know?
As people look to alternatives for raising their own meat, rabbits usually come to mind. Rabbits are a viable choice whether one lives in the country or the city. Rabbits have been a staple for many families through very difficult times. My father raised rabbits, and starting in ‘29, he survived the depression delivering and butchering rabbits on site. He continued to raise rabbits until his death at age 81. We have been around rabbits all of our lives, having grown up with my fathers’ vast experience, and continued with our love of rabbits, breeding Rex Rabbits by choice.
If you have goats, or plan on getting goats, you have most likely heard this term before. Kalispell Kinders & More has a closed herd and is often questioned as to what we mean. But what really is the difference between a closed herd and an open one? Let's cover some of the main points of both.
